RIO DE JANEIRO — Great Commission Partnerships was blessed to lead a short-term mission team from Tampa, FL to Rio de Janeiro July 4-13, 2021 in support of our partner, Pastor Joe Souza of Celebration Church in Boston.

Pastor Joe along with four team members from Rio joined our team, making us a total of 11 missionaries who set out to serve two different ministries in two different locations in the State of Rio de Janeiro.

What follows is a series of five posts that we hope through articles, images and videos can relate the needs that we are trying to meet, and the opportunity for you to get involved.

Post No. 1 – The Kids of Voando Alto

We did a three-day camp for 160 kids at Voando Alto in Saquarema, Rio de Janeiro.

We had traveled 24 hours, and 5,000 miles from Tampa to Atlanta to Sao Paulo to Rio wondering about these kids, all 160 of them. We knew they were Brazilian… Click here to read more ->

We were blessed to host a special service for church planters and leaders in Barra, Rio de Janeiro.

Helping a church plant with evangelism and inviting neighbors to a special block party.

Post No. 4 – Celebration Santa Cruz

We visited a private Christian school and met with Pastor Rosalvo Wesley in Santa Cruz.

We toured different parts of Rio as our official Rest Day.
