He is a Georgia native who moved to Seminary in his late twenties. But, not because he thought he’d ever be a pastor. Well, God had a different idea, and today, like 12 years later Dr. Jimmy Steele is a 3-time graduate of that seminary and a pastor, church planter, and church planting leader among Southern Baptists in San Diego, and Nationally as part of the Pillar Network, based in Raleigh, NC.
And he didn’t just plant a new church, he planted that new church with a core-team that had to move their whole families, their whole lives to California to be part of a revitalization of an old, declining church. And by God’s grace, they lived to tell about here.
Jimmy is married to Julie. They have four kids, and a thriving church family called the Hill Church in the hills of La Mesa in greater San Diego.
